This original VW protective washer forms part of the link pin assembly on the front suspension of later Split Screen models. It sits alongside the link pin seal between the torsion arm and spindle carrier, helping to protect and correctly support the seal within the assembly.
Designed for the later 22mm link pin front suspension, this small but important component helps protect the sealing arrangement around the link pin from damage and contamination. Four are required to complete a full front axle when replacing all link pin seals.
This is an original VW component rather than a modern reproduction. Each part has been cleaned and put through a blacking process to improve corrosion resistance and help increase the longevity of the original component.
Original link pin hardware can become corroded, damaged or lost during previous front axle repairs. A refurbished original component is an ideal choice when rebuilding the link pin assemblies and retaining genuine Volkswagen hardware.

This protective washer is designed for the later 22mm link pin arrangement fitted from August 1963 onwards. Four washers are required when replacing all link pin seal assemblies across the front axle. As this is an original refurbished VW component, minor cosmetic marks and signs of its previous service life may be present. The part has been through a blacking process to provide additional corrosion protection and help extend its usable life.
