Gen II Beams – The Ultimate Guide

Gen II Beams – The Ultimate Guide

The History From bodge jobs to full-on fails; many tinkered with Type 1 vehicles are still operating on out-dated Front Axle designs. Although for years now, aftermarket retailers have sold weld-in adjuster kits to raise/lower your Beam, without precision cutting and welding these kits have never been a good solution. From twisted Beams to fouling shock towers, a quick Google search reveals many cases of disaster. Following on from this, multiple parts manufacturers began to evolve their very own narrowed/adjustable Beam kits. Despite being a lot less problematic than the OG self-narrowing kits, we found that there were still […]

MST Pulley Systems?

MST Pulley Systems?

The Performance Highly prone to belt slip/lift at high RPMs, OEM Pulley Systems can often be more stress than it’s worth. From loud engines to little cooling, the factory design is not meant for 21st Century stop-start traffic. For those looking for either an upgrade in performance and/or aesthetics on their vehicle, we can help provide the perfect Pulley Kit. So how do MST Systems combat the issues found in the factory design? Utilising a wider/thinner belt provides a larger contact area with the Pulleys, allowing more belt-traction. Similar to putting a low profile wide tyre on your car, this […]

’67 Razoredge

Lyndon’s 1967 RazoredgeLimebug-Built Type 34 For those unfamiliar with the Volkswagen Razoredge, here is a quick history lesson. In 1961, VW revealed the Razor, in efforts to appeal to a higher-market consumer. Loosely based on the concept of the Karmann Ghia, this vehicle had a complete exterior overhaul, alongside a new front chassis style, shared with other Type 3 vehicles (Square/Notch). This provided the Razor with a more luxurious ride, to match it’s stunning coach-built panels. With very few now left over in salvageable condition, it was a pleasure to be involved with this refurb. Suspension: When Lyndon came to […]

Air Ride?

Air Ride?

The History As of recent years, Air Ride has been a heavily discussed topic among Aircooled Enthuasiasts. From the sketchy weld-in kits made by some in their home-garages, to the original 2-way kits which severely affected handling, the cocnept of Air Suspension often recieves a bad reputation. In 2014, we decided that enough was enough. With the release of our Gen I kit, we allowed Aircooled owners to install a bolt-on kit, designed for an easy install, with no-need to weld or cut up the original pan/chassis. Although being one of the first bolt-on kits available on the market, […]
