’63 Green Patina Beetle
1963 Beryl Green Beetle Limebug-Built Type 1
In 2019, we picked up our 1963 US Import Type 1. Spotting the stunning Patina Beryl Green bodywork online, we knew we had to own it! Over the next few years, we slowly restored the chassis on this Beetle, including an entire Limebug Parts overhaul. Once the Suspension was complete, the car needed a special set of wheels. Following suit from our past ’49 Beetle’ build, we designed and built a custom set of Split Rims – Now known as the 6335.
To add to the already stunning natural patina, we added a series of aftermarket parts. Seeing the car in person, the first thing many customers comment on is the Pop Out Windows. Adding to the California-inspired looks of the build, the Safaris also provide great driving effects. Taking the car out of the shop for a week of driving during the heatwave summer of 2022, these parts came into their own. To complete the look, we added a Jim Dandy Rear Rack – A marmite part for sure, however we think it looks just right on the back of our 63.
Once complete, we showcased the build at FittedUK 2022 in Manchester, where the car recieved a great reception from the attendees. Now residing in the Limebug Showroom, the Beryl Green is a display piece, occasionally taken outside for a freshen-up.
