Description
Improve the visibility and safety of your classic Volkswagen Type 2 with this advanced LED rear light retrofit kit. Designed specifically for 1962-1971 VW Split Screen Bus and Bay Window models fitted with US specification rear tail light units, this plug and play kit fits directly into the original rear light housings and upgrades the stop, tail and indicator functions to ultra-bright modern LED performance. Installation is quick and straightforward, requiring no cutting or modification to the vehicle’s original wiring.
At the heart of the kit is a high-performance LED array, featuring 62 heavy-duty SMD LEDs per unit – a total of 124 LEDs per pair. These automotive-grade LEDs deliver exceptional brightness, excellent light dispersion and greatly improved visibility in both daylight and poor weather conditions. Engineered for maximum reliability, the system draws minimal current and is compatible with both 6-volt and 12-volt negative earth electrical systems.
Designed as a true plug and play upgrade, each module is supplied with an approximately 25cm wiring loom and factory-style connectors for fast, hassle-free installation. No specialist electrical knowledge is required, making this an ideal upgrade for both original restorations and regularly driven vehicles equipped with US specification tail light assemblies.
Please note: Lenses are not included. This kit is designed to work with your existing original or replacement US specification rear light lenses, preserving the factory appearance when unlit while providing significantly improved illumination when in use.
Each LED retrofit kit is supplied fully assembled and ready to install.
