6″ Narrowed Ball Joint Elite Series Swing Axle Complete Lowering Kit – Volkswagen T1 Beetle / Karmann Ghia 1966–1979
This complete lowering package contains everything required to professionally lower both the front and rear of your Beetle or Karmann Ghia using bolt-on parts for a straightforward installation. All components are made to industry-leading standards, ensuring both performance and reliability.

Front Components:
Limebug T1 1966–1979 Narrowed Ball Joint Elite Series Beam
– Manufactured in the UK to the highest quality and finish standards.
– Hand-finished; please allow up to a two-week production lead time (contact us if you have specific build deadlines).
– Constructed from CDS mechanical-grade tubing with 8 mm laser-cut end plates, CNC body and shock mounts, and dog-leg shock tower support.
– Unique grease cavity system and steering stop.
– High-quality OEM style roller needle bearings, grease fittings, and steering damper mount.
– Supplied in Powdercoat Black
Pair of T1 1966–1979 Beetle Front Ball Joint Lowered Gas Shock Absorbers (285–415mm)
– Gas-charged ultra-high-performance dampers, hand-built for maximum quality.
– Powder-coated for excellent corrosion resistance and appearance.
– Progressive performance, designed for lowered ball joint models including T1 Beetle, T3 Ghia, T34 Razor Edge, and all T3 variations (see compatibility list).
– Specifications: Stud (upper) / eyelet (lower) mounts, black sleeve with red urethane, 285-415mm stroke.
T1 1966–1979 Beetle / Ghia 2.5″ Dropped Spindles
– CNC-machined from new castings with chromoly axles.
– Stronger and narrower than welded spindles.
– Maintains factory steering geometry and allows use of standard-length shocks.
– Drops the ride height by a full 2½” and widens track by ¼” per side.
– Works with standard VW bearings/seals (1966–67 models require conversion bearing kit), 1969-later tie rod ends (M12).
– Available for Disk or Drum brake application.
T1 Beetle / Ghia RHD or LHD Up to 6″ Narrowed Track Rods
– Professionally engineered in the UK from high-grade CDS seamless tubing.
– Optional German-quality track rod ends available
– Adjustable slots for easy alignment.
– Supplied with 2× LH and 2× RH threaded pinch nuts, and steering damper eyelet as standard.
– Available in M10 or M12 stud sizes.
Rear Components:
T1 Beetle / Ghia / Type 3 Swing Axle 2″ or 4″ Adjustable Dropped Spring Plates (Available in 21 3/4″, 24 11/16″, 26 9/16″)
– Full range to cater for all torsion bar lengths; compatible with all Beetle, Ghia, and Type 3 swing axle rear ends.
– Corrects rear toe-in issues when lowering.
– Extended slots allow accurate laser alignment, reducing tyre wear and improving handling stability.
– Satin black powder-coated finish.
– 2″ or 4″ drop with adjustment to fine tune desired height.
