Rear light visibility has never been a strong point of the classic VW Beetle. Now, owners can upgrade their stop, tail, and indicator lights with the latest in LED lighting technology. This all-new LED retrofit kit fits directly into the original 1956–61 VW Beetle taillight housing, converting all rear lighting functions to bright, highly visible LEDs. Installation takes approximately 30 minutes and requires no prior electrical knowledge.

At the heart of the kit is a precision-engineered LED array featuring 34 heavy-duty SMD LEDs per unit—68 in total per pair. These automotive-grade LEDs deliver ultra-bright performance, a wide dispersion angle, and maximum visibility for all rear lighting functions. Designed to last the lifetime of the vehicle, the system draws minimal current and is compatible with both 6-volt and 12-volt negative earth systems.

Importantly, the kit includes full indicator functionality, making it ideal for semaphore-equipped models by providing clear, bright rear indication when turning—greatly enhancing safety in modern traffic conditions.

Installation is straightforward, thanks to the engraved colour key on the unit and a colour-coded wiring loom that matches OE specifications. The included 45cm loom offers flexible routing to suit your setup.

Please note: The lens is not included, but the kit is designed to work seamlessly with your existing “snowflake” style lens and maintain an original appearance when unlit.
