Spring Plate Conversion IRS Kit, 2″ Stub

This conversion kit is used when you want to remove your stock torsion bars out of the torsion housing and use either a coil over shock or air bag suspension to hold up your vehicle. This kit uses a 3/4 heim joint to allow your trailing arm to freely pivot up and down. We offer these spring plate conversion kits for both a stock VW style torsion housing or “custom” torsion housing. A stock VW style torsion housing is wider than a custom torsion housing and requires a bend in the plate leading back to the trailing arm so the plate will line up correctly with the trailing arm.
Hardware and heim joints are not included with this set.
Two 3/4-16 bolts that are 2 inches long are required to mount the heim joints on to the torsion plates. Ten 1/2-20 bolts that are 1 1/4 inches long are required to mount the spring plate to the trailing arm. Eight metric bolts are required to mount the torsion cover plate to the torsion housing.
